Agricultural Technical Support Position

Hortau Inc. is currently accepting resumes for a full time ’Field Service Technician’ in the Watsonville/Salinas area.

About Hortau:
Hortau is the manufacturer and distributor of Irrigation Management systems throughout California. Our office is located in San Luis Obispo Ca. Our systems report real time soil moisture data to growers via the internet.

Scope of Activities:
This position is responsible for installing, monitoring, diagnosing and performing all repairs and maintenance on customer equipment in the field. This will include troubleshooting computer networks, tearing down, cleaning, inspecting and assembling of equipment.

Must be skilled with internet protocols, general knowledge of computer systems, remote software applications, mechanical and electrical tasks. Requires the flexibility to travel overnight on short notice, work with minimal supervision, interact with customers, and complete paperwork accurately and timely.

The territory will primarily cover Monterey County but also includes Tulare County north through the valley. Overnight stays are common.

Skills and Experience:
-Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Dependable, Trustworthy, Hardworking (system installations require field labor work).
-Excellent time management skills.
-High School diploma required and related work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record a must.
- Agricultural background and bilingual a plus.
-Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer and company expectations.
-Develop rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
-Serve as an ambassador for the company.
